Banyan: Things Fall apart in Japan

The article presents the irony of too many leaders striving for the top, without enough popular support to sustain the old or new parties.   I used crumbling ladders to symbolize Japan's fragmenting party system.  I placed one large broken ladder in the center of the image, framing the large red sun against the white sky - the symbol of the Japanese flag.
